Fairytale Pottery

Ohhh... I am so excited about this!!!! last year I started trying out to transfer image to pottery in way that it would be permanently and maintain the dishwasher/microwave/oven safe.

I did several try outs and if you look at me early posts you will see that I was not very happy with my first results .

The whole process require testing because glazes and surfaces varies a lot ( amount of silica etc...) but I finally figure out and i absolutely LOVE the results!!!

I made several pieces and also listed some on my new little etsy store. Visit me there , if you like to buy some.
I will be making , as time allows me ,more pieces and will list some more there.
I love the font .... it is like a child's writing.*grin*

My wordings are :

* one saxy mouse *
* a musician mouse in the house *
* simple pleasures *
* made from scratch *

Experimenting...

Sometimes I make things and I love it and other times I don't . I did not like this picture, I love the idea but because I hardly sketch I know *now* where I mess up. Watercolors is nothing like the other mediums... one needs to be very good in drawing and because I never draw when I paint with oils, I am struggling with that. I truly think I need to spend more time planing, sketching, drawing, before I grab the paints....

Let's play

Fresh water!

Leviticus 14:50
"He shall kill one of the birds over fresh water in a clay pot."

Back in the farm where I grow up, we always had our drinking water from the clay pot. There is something refreshing about the clay pots ....

Few years ago, I start looking for clay pots online and as a matter of a fact , I found this one on Amazon.com, but the neat thing is , I was searching for this type of pots because I like how the water tastes- in which by the way, is very different from any other water. I then found an interesting article about the water kept in a clay pot and how that affect our metabolism. I am not sure if is true but through out the bible , there are many references as the water was kept on clay pots.... not with filters like the one I have but still clay pot like that.

Well, the article ( I did not keep the link and it has been a while ...sorry) explained the importance of the temperature of the water to be right in order for our metabolism to work well. This article was about weight loss , not religious, but very interested to me.

It is a lovely raining day and I just got back from the pottery shop . I so enjoy days such is this, praise be to God for all things!*grin*

As I sipped my delicious water , I thought to share these thoughts.....

Simple Pleasures

Simple things in life makes my heart and soul happy!

I want to post in respond of my previous post. I have decided to cover my head *only* during worship and prayer. I have done some deep research and truly believe that the head covering is not for all the time ...why? well, this is what I think:

The text in Scriptures ( I Cor . 11) ....

"4Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. 5And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head—it is just as though her head were shaved. "

...talks about both man and woman having their heads covered and uncovered. Well, one of the arguments that I read a lot about the women having their head covered all the time, was that the bible commends us to pray without ceasing therefore the woman should have the head covered at all times. However , the same passage is instructing man to have their heads uncovered, opposite of woman. THAT made me think - this MUST have been a commend for a specific time of prayer and teaching other wise men would NOT have been called to uncover thier heads.( Should he too have head head uncovered at ALL times??) We know that men , including Christian men, through out history has worn cloth, hats and other forms during different time in their everyday lives, so instead of focusing on the women , I looked at the instruction for the men in that passage and came to the conclusion that this was NOT a command for all times but rather like the word of God said - during prayer or prophesies .
I don't mean to impose my thoughts and conviction on anyone but rather , if you are too looking for these answers or never read this passage of the scripture, to have a second view.

Thank you you for visiting me and reading my post.
