Sketch~ feeding chickens

" chip,, chip, chip ... here chickens...chip ...chip ...chip"
Not a long ago, I decided to change my eating habits and decide to eliminate most meats intake. I do eat fish if is freshly caught and a little bit of venison. The funny thing is that I no longer look at chickens as food as once I did....*grin*
I did this quick sketch because i was thinking of my own childhood.

Hi Pat! hope you are having a wonderful weekend! I'm telling you friend, great minds think alike, or we must be sharing a muse these past couple of weeks! I just finished a little duo I will soon share on my blog..with chickens! then I pop over to see you, and here is this darling sketch of a wee girl feeding the chickens! This too reminds me of my life as a child, as we always had chickens, dairy cows, horses, dogs, cats, hogs, goats at times, and countless others at different times! What a life huh? running through fields of wild flowers with butterflies fluttering about! picking blackberries, helping gather eggs, helping grandma make butter, jams, canned vegetables, and sausage, milking cows..all of that now seems like another life..indeed it was..my childhood! I have NO animals now, isnt that strange? I chose to raise children instead I suppose..smiles. Now I am looking forward to getting a dog, and a cat soon..perhaps the beginning of another era! Have a wonderful weekend, I love the sketch..it is another moment in time we share! I want to share this with you ,..it was my grandmas cookies..it was a basic refrigerator sugar cookie dough, with hickory nuts added, after baking she would put just a squiggle of white buttercream icing on them, after they cooled! These were THE best cookies I ever tasted. Love, Christel

Good morning again loved one! Oh yes, that Rosemary is marinading my CHICKEN :) dowsed in white wine, vinegar, olive oil with thyme, oregano and lots of garlic! I will raise my glass tonight in honor of you, my precious friend. Your words on my post are most special to me, as are you. Blessings from Minnesota, Nita
