My drawings are simple and have a hint of old fashion ways. I like to evoke the past when I draw but also the present that is not very common these days. *grin*
I was debating with not only the tone and choices of color ,but also ,how light or dark I want the final illustration to look.
After several work , I feel that the translucent , very light approach is were I feel more comfortable however this does not mean that I am done trying.
Another issue that I had was the outlines. I use pen to outline and when I removed that I really liked the results. I found a new *love* for my pencils lines .On this illustration , I not only did not erased my lines , I actually use the pencil to do more outlines in the final step.

What do you think? i would love to hear from you!!!!

I am so blessed to have known your work dearest, and to see your progress is such a wonder. You have inspired me beyond words, from which I make my living....I like to think that I am a wordsmith of sorts when I need to express myself, but there are just some moments where words are impossible. Thank you for EVERYTHING....Nita
Dear Patricia, when I look at your work it does take me back to a more simple time, but the use of the bold primary colors also bring your work into the present, so I think it is a great combination. I can easily pick out one of your watercolors. Your style is unlike any other. I think outlining with the pencil, has given the painting more demention. Another beautiful work from a beautiful soul. Thank you so very much for the heartfelyt message you left for me at my blog, I cherish what you have said. with love, Christel
I love how this painting is evolving, Pat...thank you for sharing your gentle journey in paints!! love, Rosa
Aha! I think you've got it! See how much easier it makes things when you do the pencil drawing first. It is looking quite good!
