Color Pencil

I don't really like to use color pencils to much because I find myself limited when I am shading and blending but I also know that is probably a lack of practice. I did this quick sketch because I wanted to try adding some texture to the paper and play a little. I found harder to let the light come through but it is there.... I am wondering if you see it too....grin.

Pat... I understand what you are saying about feeling limited using colored pencil, I feel the same way, but have found that using a colorless blender pencil helps alot. I think this illustration is beautiful! I can see the light. From the window across the top of her head, face and table..
I love the texture on the paper.

Dear Pat, I love all of the watercolors, but the colored pencil has a charm all it's own. The rough hues, the textures, and the light..it is all works together to make a very nice piece! My favorite as of late, is the lady with the dishes. This scene looks so much like my grandmothers kitchen as I remember it as a young child. The deep sinks, the faucet high on the back splash..thank you for the memories Pat, xoxo love Christel
